In July of 2027, 15 students, along with teacher Tyler Collins, are taking a trip to Europe. Travel agency Education First specializes in sending high school students overseas for trips. The plan is to visit countries such as Scotland, England, and France as well as multiple places in between those areas. Collins will chaperone with a parent.
“This is a full stem tour through EF,” Collins said. “It allows students to go overseas to see different aspects of the medical field that maybe they’ve never seen before.”
The trip is 11 days long while it will take around 24 hours to get there with the flight and layovers. Despite the long travel, their schedule will be packed with exciting tours.
“I’m probably most looking forward to all the tours we are gonna take around the museums and all the things we are gonna be able to see,” sophomore Jersie Smith said. “I’ve always been interested in going to Europe and seeing Great Britain and the Eiffel Tower.”
Collins will be taking students through different types of museums to learn about the culture and medical history.
“I’m really excited to get the new opportunities with nursing and seeing all the museums we are going to visit,” sophomore Zoey Laferla said. “I wanna go because it’s definitely going to be an experience I can learn from and something that’ll probably stay with me for a while.”
Although students will be learning about various healthcare subjects, they will also be there for more cultural experiences and fun activities.
“Ive always been interested in health sciences and I want to go on vacation so I thought perfect, why not do a stem tour?” Freshman Raina Hamilton said. “I’m most looking forward to going to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower but also learning because that’s very important.”
