Candy is loved by all ages, from Skittles to KitKat, Airheads to Nerds, everyone loves candy. True fact: sugar can even be more addicting than opioid drugs. Every holiday, at least one candy company comes out with a holiday themed candy. But which is the best for each holiday?
Starting off strong early in the year is Valentine’s Day. There are many candies around this holiday: chocolates, candy hearts, Fun Dip, etc. But the best candy? Easy question, easy answer. The answer is the best candy ever created: Sour Punch Hearts; another well-known product from the Sour Punch franchise: Sour Punch Straws/Bites. These Sour Punch Hearts are the ultimate package, a malic acid coating and a gummy inside. Coming in three flavors: watermelon, strawberry lemonade, and fruit punch; these hearts are the best Valentine’s Day candy.
Coming in hot, a popular holiday centered around Jesus, we have Easter. Now, Easter has popular candy like chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies, and jelly beans, but the best candy at Easter is Peeps. You can argue that you can eat Peeps all year round, but the best time to eat them is around Easter. It’s hard not to like Peeps, they’re just chick shaped marshmallows with a sugar top coat, and wax eyes. They melt in your mouth, and are perfect for your Easter basket.
4th of July, a time for remembrance of independence, and firework shows, but it’s also a time to gather and eat tons of themed food. Not a lot of candy is eaten on the 4th of July, but there is one that’s the best: red, white, and blue M&Ms. The well-known chocolate candy with a colorful hard coating, these M&Ms are the best candy to eat around the time of freedom, independence, big boom’s and colors of fireworks’, known as the 4th of July.
The most popular time for candy, and the holiday that revolves around candy, time for Halloween. Boo! Now, KitKats, Twix, Milky Way, Reese’s Cups, and many other fan favorites are the candies passed out of bowls during Halloween. But the best candy at Halloween is a controversial one, that candy being Candy Corn. Everyone who eats Candy Corn either hates it, or loves it, which is total crap. How could you not like Candy Corn? It’s an amazing candy, when you bite into that soft and chewy yellow, orange, and white candy, it’s addicting and you keep reaching back for more.
Moving on to Thanksgiving, there are barely any Thanksgiving candy, there’s really only turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cranberries. The only candy I can vouch for on Thanksgiving is cupcakes with mini Reese’s Cups, candy corn, and little eyes. They aren’t exactly related to the topic at hand, but it’s close enough.
Lastly, Christmas, a time for celebration and lots of food and candy. Candy is a popular thing used as stocking stuffers to fill some space. You might think I’m going to say red and green M&Ms, Candy Cane’s, or maybe even chocolate Santa’s. Wrong. Honestly, the best Christmas candy is the Candy Cane Hershey’s Kisses. It’s like biting into Candy Cane, and then being overwhelmed with delicious white chocolate. It may not be a fan favorite, but it’s a personal favorite.
Candy is loved by all, at all times. But especially around the holiday’s is when it hits different. Whether it be popular holiday candies, or the candy that I find my personal favorite. All candy is good, just don’t get too addicted.
