Thanksgiving is a time of year when we gather our family and loved ones to tell them what we are thankful for. It’s also time to yell at each other over all kinds of grievances. There is something hotter than the takes at this dinner, however, and that’s the food. But which Thanksgiving food is best? This age-old question I have finally answered, by using my own opinions.
The absolute, positive, most fantastic Thanksgiving food is mashed potatoes. Now you may be thinking, isn’t that a bit basic? Maybe to you, who can’t understand the infinite possibilities provided by a billowing bed of fluffy mashed goodness. You could eat it plain, eat it with butter, eat it with salt, eat it with butter and salt if you are feeling adventurous. Eat it with cheese, sour cream and onions, veggies, mix-ins, and even buttery smooth corn.
This isn’t to say that other foods are not good. Take pumpkin pie for example a deliciously smooth, sweet confection that anyone can enjoy. You can put whipped cream on it, maple syrup, eat it with ice cream, or make it into ice cream. It truly is special and, if I may be so bold, the best Thanksgiving food of them all. It somehow even surpasses the concoction of apple cider. A nice warm cup on a cold Thanksgiving day, full of spiced apple goodness, can make you feel so toasty and cozy that there is no way it can’t be the best Thanksgiving food.

Of course on Thanksgiving, there can only be one best food, and none such as that as the king of the feast. That being the flightless Turkey. This delicious beast can be prepared with so many flavors and stuffing variations that it is impossible for it not to be the greatest Thanksgiving Food. Speaking of stuffing, who’s to say that there must be something to be stuffed to qualify the need for stuffing? This scrumptious concoction of meat, veggies, and seasonings made into a fine paste most certainly deserves the recognition of the highest order as the most beloved and treasured Thanksgiving food.
So it’s decided that green bean casserole is the best Thanksgiving food. Yes truly, there is no better food on Thanksgiving than the cranberry sauce. A deliciously dedicated food such as mac and cheese. It can be baked, or cooked on the stove if so desired. A lavish Thanksgiving cannot be complete without its best food. That being mashed potatoes.

In the end, it doesn’t matter what the definitive best Thanksgiving food is, even though it is gravey, as long as you like the food. That’s because your opinions don’t hold any value to anyone but you, unless you’re me. So Happy Thanksgiving to All and to All a good night.
