As temperatures rise and school comes to an end, students prepare for a summer packed full of fun and relaxation. From screaming on roller coasters and visiting theme parks, to the laughter at the pool, and the serenity of stargazing on a camping trip, this summer offers something for all.
Theme parks offer teens adrenaline rushes, endless laughter, and unforgettable memories with friends. From obstacle courses and climbing at Bellevue’s TreeRush Adventures to Iowa’s Adventureland Park in Altoona, which offers classic rides like Ferris wheels, bumper cars, and carousels. Adventureland also offers rides for thrillseekers, including offering 7 rollercoasters.
As the summer sun blazes, teens love going to the pool in search of cool water, fun, and socializing. Pools are a popular meeting place for teens. Pirates Cove and Katelmans pool are the most popular pools in the Council Bluffs area. Both pools offer water slides, diving boards, and relaxed swimming areas.
“I enjoy going outside during the summer to enjoy the outdoors and swimming, often going to Funplex and enjoying the park,” Freshman Ana Watkins said.
Summer offers time for families and adventurers alike to go camping and enjoy the great outdoors. Whether pitching a tent or parking an RV next to the lake, camping can mean many things to different people with a shared love for the outdoors.
“My family doesn’t often take big trips, but we do go camping quite often.” Freshman Eliot Powers said. ”We spend a lot of time with family and go on family camping trips.”
Enjoy the thrills of all the rollercoasters, the cool and relaxing days at the pool, and the endless fun and adventures that the next three months will bring. The staff at the AL Echoes will see you again in the fall.
