AL’s girls golf team is set to tee off with their first meet against Thomas Jefferson on April 1. After adding a new coach last year, everyone is anticipating better scores this year.
The only senior on the team, Suri Quigley, is focusing on team aspects this year.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the new girls and having a new varsity line up,” said Quigley. “And it’s my senior year so I’m excited.”
Junior Riley Lindgren is not only looking forward to this season, but is excited about next year as well
“I’m looking forward to seeing the people that join golf this year, and next year,” said Lindgren. “It’s always nice seeing that people are still joining the sport, that not many people always play.”
Sophomore Faith Lindquist said she hopes to set a new personal record and focus on her team.
“I hope to set a new PR and help other girls that have joined the team become more passionate about golf,” said Lindquist.
Lindquist also said she hopes to accomplish lots with her team.
“I hope to accomplish better overall team scores, and I want to continue to bond with my former and new teammates.”
Head coach Ryan Higgins said he has goals set for the team this year.
“My first goal is that the girls will have fun learning a lifelong sport,” said Higgins. “My second goal is that they all will shoot better in May than they do in March.”
