For many decades Council Bluffs has been known as a small city with stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. Recently, multiple new places opened in Council Bluffs, including a remodeled Runza, Sierra, Ross, IHOP and more but the two places that people are most excited for is Wingstop, and 7 Brew Coffee.
The new 7 Brew Coffee will be located at 2901 W Broadway where a U.S bank used to stand. This location is a part of the company’s expansion in the Omaha Metro area and is the seventh location that is available. The opening of this new 7 Brew was originally set to be late 2025 but has yet to fully open its doors to the public and is said to have been pushed back to this April.
The new Wingstop will be located near HuHot. As of early 2026, Wingstop is still under construction but people are able to see the Wingstop sign in front of the building. There is no specific date to when Wingstop will open but many believe it is going to be close due to how fast the construction has been.
Junior Tyler Lawslo says that he will be looking forward to both places.
“Honestly I just love trying new food and drinks so I am excited to see what both places have to offer,” said Lawslo. “I’ve always wanted to try both places but since they were in Omaha it made it hard to ever do that so I’m glad they are adding both places to Council Bluffs.”
Junior Allison King says she is most excited for Wingstop.
“I love Wingstop and would rather have a food place that is more reasonably priced than another coffee shop when we have many others like Scooters and Starbucks around here,” said King.
Junior Josie Solon says that she is looking forward to Wingstop due to food preferences.
“I am more excited about Wingstop, because I’d rather have a good food place than another coffee place,” said Solon. “I don’t really like coffee so I think I’ll like Wingstop better.”
Junior Lilah Smith says she is excited about both places but a little more for Wingstop.
“I am more excited for Wingstop currently. My reasoning behind that is I was offered a position to work at the Wingstop coming in. I am very excited about that,” said Smith. “Although if I hadn’t been offered a job, I’d be equally excited for both places. I’ve heard so many positive things about both places.”
Both places have made students excited for their opening and look forward to what each place has to offer.
