Halloween season is here and new spooky movies are coming out. It’s the perfect time to look at students’ favorite Halloween-themed movies. From Hocus Pocus to Scream, students at AL love the fall season and all of the movies that come with it.
Freshman Adrienne Stotts says she loves the details in Halloween movies and how unique they are.
“My favorite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus,” said Stotts. “Hocus Pocus is funny but also scary and suspenseful. The Halloween costumes the characters wore looked really good and it is a classic. “
Junior Chloe Pomernackas says she prefers animated Halloween films with that older feeling.
“My favorite Halloween movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas,” said Pomernackas. “It’s my favorite Halloween movie because of the way it is animated. I really enjoy the old-timey animated movies, especially by Tim Burton.”
Freshman Alice Kenney disagrees and says the best Halloween movie is “Beetlejuice” due to its eeriness.
“My favorite Halloween movie is Beetlejuice,” said Kenney. “This is because there are good, interesting characters with a fun plot. It’s kind of weird and creepy but fun at the same time.”
Junior Riley Schmitt says she likes more kid-friendly movies due to it being appropriate for all.
“My favorite movie is Spookly the Square Pumpkin,” said Riley. “It’s my favorite because it’s enjoyable for all ages.”
Seeing as so many students have such different opinions we had students at AL fill out a movie survey. Students at AL voted the top Halloween-themed movies as Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas.
