Country artist Zach Bryan was back in town at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln to perform with Heaven on Tour, following the release of his album With Heaven On Top. Instead of going to prom this year, I got to see Zach Bryan perform.
Gates opened at 5:30; however, the concert was postponed until 7:30 due to forecasted rain and storms. People got in when the gates were opened, but half of them were kicked out to seek shelter.
We stood in the pouring rain, lightning, and thunder for 3 and a half hours. I gave in and went inside before we were told the gates were opening, and went and stood back out in the rain.
Finally, at about 10:30, they opened the gates and allowed people in. We weaved through heaps and crowds of people to find our seats. Zach Bryan had already started playing at 10:45.
Although his set list was seven songs short, it still included an unreleased song and 20 minutes of Revival. His set list included: Bowery, Overtime, Open the Gate, Appetite, Something in the Orange, God Speed, Say Why, Dawns, Nine Ball, American Nights, If They Come Lookin’, Oklahoma Smokeshow, Jake’s Piano / Long Island, You’ll Get By, Pink Skies, Rivers and Creeks, Heavy Eyes, Burn, Burn, Burn, I Remember Everything, and Revival.
It was such an amazing show, and such a cool experience to watch Zach Bryan perform. He had such spirit, and he put his all into his performance. And his band members were so talented. Experiencing 20 minutes of Revival in the pouring rain was an experience I won’t come close to again. It was amazing and truly a good performance.
Although the rain put the concert at a standstill, Zach Bryan was still a good sport and put his all into making the performance better than ever for the people who had to wait out in the rain. Regardless of being soaking wet for hours, it was so worth it, and I’d do it all over again.
