Rimera is an underground music artist who began making his official music in late 2022 and has shown immense creativity despite not being very popular. Following the release of his studio album, BUSHWA, on July 22, 2025, a deluxe version featuring 4 bonus tracks was released on Oct. 15. This deluxe release introduces multiple conflicting genres of music between individual songs, creating an impressive mash-up of experimental punk, jazz, hip-hop, and rap. Lyrical connections and meanings behind these new songs serve as compelling lessons and experiences that many can relate to. These tracks only further develop the talent that Rimera showcases spectacularly and musically in BUSHWA.
The first new song featured on BUSHWA Deluxe is “gravity falls song.” This song is a direct reference to Disney’s Gravity Falls show, serving as a heartfelt ode to themes of adventure and discovery. The lyrical connections to the show’s finale, “see you next summer,” tie listeners back to the show, leading to reminiscence. The musical style of this track strikes a balance between raw emotion and unconventional structure. As a result of this cleverly made song, it evokes a nostalgic atmosphere for listeners.
The next song is “bestworstsummer” featuring James Droptop. This bold, two-minute track paints a vivid soundscape and captures the intense emotional swings of youth, much like the title: “best-worst-summer.” This song’s central theme encapsulates a bittersweet summer filled with highs and lows. I also want to credit this song for its experimental blend of quick punk and hip-hop, especially with James Droptop as a featured artist who can be heard amidst the thrashful punk with some old-school rapping.
Following that song is “slow burn kid,” one of Rimera’s more emotional tracks in BUSHWA. This melancholic and deliberate song explores themes of coming of age under pressure and the rebellious tendencies that often accompany immaturity. First of all, the instrumental has a dreamy and expansive feel, like something I’ve never heard before.
When this lulling instrumental pairs with the lyrics, it creates reflection. I feel that many teenagers could relate to this one, especially due to the word choice.
The last song on BUSHWA Deluxe is “your pretty boys,” featuring KIMBERLXY, who has made many previous appearances throughout Rimera’s career. I went into this one with high expectations, knowing KIMBERLXY’s previous features astounded me, and it still defied them. This song feels like the embodiment of love itself, with KIMBERLXY’s soulful vocals and Rimera’s vaporwave-like instrumental in the background.
The deluxe album isn’t just music; it’s a story about the rough transition from childhood to adulthood. I think Rimera deserves more recognition, as this was a 10/10 deluxe to BUSHWA.
